Social Media Training

National research earlier this year revealed that Facebook and Twitter have overtaken 'searching' as the most popular online activity. Almost four in five of Australia's nine million social media users sent or shared a photo in the past year, and nearly three quarters sent or shared a link. Social media has moved out of the realm of 'new' media to mainstream.

Tasmanian research undertaken by Font Public Relations has revealed that currently 58 per cent of Tasmanians are engaged in some form of social media.

Font's training encompasses an introduction into social media and covers:

  • the history of social media (a quick overview and some interesting statistics)
  • social media in a Tasmanian context (who is using it and what platforms are they using?)
  • social media policy and procedure (how to protect your personal or company brand)
  • an introduction to Facebook (how it works, why it works and what communication works best)
  • an introduction to Twitter (how it works, why it works and what communication works best)
  • an introduction to YouTube (how it works, why it works and what communication works best)
  • an exploration of successful case studies demonstrating how social media can be used effectively for reputation building, brand awareness and community engagement
  • sharing is caring - what do individuals want from you and how can you make it easy for them to access it?
  • resource allocation (what do I need to invest to make this successful)
  • social media into the future

Throughout the training participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and draw on real world examples to enhance their knowledge of social media platforms and communication.
