Rockliff becomes Health Minister in new Gutwein Government Cabinet

Deputy Premier Jeremy Rockliff will become Minister for Health, swapping it for his previous role as Minister for Education with Sarah Courtney, in the new Gutwein Government Cabinet announced today.

Jacquie Petrusma returns to the Ministry, picking up the Police, Fire and Emergency Management, Prevention of Family Violence and Parks.

In other changes, Michael Ferguson picks up the newly created State Development, Construction and Housing portfolio; Roger Jaensch is the new Minister for State Growth; Guy Barnett adds Trade to his existing portfolios and Jane Howlett takes on the Small Business and Women portfolios.

Mark Shelton is the Government’s nomination for the Speaker of the House of Assembly, with Nic Street as Deputy.

Newly elected Liberal MP Madeleine Ogilvie has been appointed as Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier, and Jo Palmer has been promoted to Deputy Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council.
