Tasmania’s public relations professional group relaunched
We are proud to announce Font PR Senior Consultants Jacquie Ray and Lucinda Bray have been elected to hold roles on the Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) State Council.
Both Lucinda and Jacquie join the newly-formed State Council, with other Tasmanian PR professionals Susan Moore, David Nicholson and Justin Merrigan. Jacquie has also been appointed the roles of PRIA State President and National Board Director.
The revitalised PRIA aims to reinvigorate membership through professional development, networking opportunities as well as joint initiatives with other relevant Tasmanian associations.
National President of the PRIA, Mike Watson, welcomed the move as an initiative the national board was keen to see succeed.
“Tasmania has been the missing piece in national PRIA initiatives, and we are delighted Tasmanian members have acted to get things moving again in the state,” Mr Watson said.
“In recent years, the Institute has struggled at a local level in Tasmania, so it is a great effort for these individuals to come together to establish a more stable communications network in the state.”
Membership of the PRIA gives communications professionals a network of support as well as an opportunity to develop skills and demonstrate their commitment to ethical practices. It sets communications professionals apart, as members must adhere to an industry Code of Practice in order to maintain their membership.
Font is proud to be a member of the PRIA’s Registered Consultancies Group – one of only two in Tasmania. For those interested in PRIA membership, please visit www.pria.com.au.
