Jane is an experienced policy analyst with more than eight years’ experience in government and the legal sector in the United Kingdom and more recently Western Australia.
Skilled in crisis management, political communication, politics, policy analysis and risk management, Jane also has considerable experience in management and oversight of complex projects and budgets, speech writing, report writing and analysis and stakeholder management.
Tasmanian born and bred, Jane grew up on a beef cattle farm in the Derwent Valley which enriched her passion for regional development and agriculture. Jane spent five years working for Hon Terry Redman MLA, former Leader of the WA Nationals and Minister for Regional Development; Lands implementing the $1 billion a year Royalties for Regions program. With a focus on Pilbara, Gascoyne, health, housing and telecommunications, Jane oversaw more than $2 billion worth of programs and initiatives during her time in regional development. Key to this role was the preparation of communications strategies, media releases and speech development as well as developing meaningful relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including local governments, community groups and industry.
Prior to her time in Western Australia, Jane spent time working in the legal sector in London and Southampton, UK.
Happy to be back home in Tasmania with her young family, Jane is excited to bring her government and policy experience to ensure Tasmania continues to be a great place to live, work and invest.
Jane holds a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Arts and Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice from the University of Tasmania and is admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Tasmania.
